We are so preoccupied with taking care of our face that we often neglect the rest of our body, which is why it is so crucial to know several ways to take care of your skin all around. Just because our body is usually covered with clothing for most of the year doesn’t mean that it is okay to forget what cannot be seen until summer rolls around! So keep in mind these several ways to take care of your skin all over the body!
1 Cleanse Daily
Hectic daily schedules can lead to a lot of sweating and clogged up pores, which is why it is important to cleanse your face and body! Especially if you work out on a daily basis, sweat can cause a lot of acne and bumps all over, so make sure to cleanse your face and refresh your body after a workout. It is one of the most important ways to take care of your skin. Your skin will thank you later on!
If you want to have baby-soft skin, make sure to exfoliate a couple of times a week! Removing dead skin will leave it looking healthy and radiant. However, don’t forget to especially exfoliate your legs. Shaving can cause a lot of ingrown hairs and exfoliating can completely get rid of that problem. Soon enough your legs will be smooth and bump free.
Nothing is more unpleasant than ashy knees, elbows and just skin in general. It can give off an unhealthy and dull look. Therefore, don’t forget to moisturize your whole body and face right after you take a shower or bath, to replenish you skin with some moisture and lock everything in.
4 Use Gentle Soap
Many people are not aware that they have sensitive skin so they continue using harsh products on their body, even if it leaves their skin dry and uncomfortable. Therefore, try using products for sensitive skin that will be gentle on your body and give it a luminous appearance.
5 Protect from the Sun
Just like your face should be protected from UV rays, your body should get the same treatment! You should be using sunblock all over your body, especially during the summer. UV rays from the sun can greatly damage your skin and increase the signs of wrinkles and aging. So if you want younger looking skin for years to come, invest in an effective sun block!
6 Take Colder Showers
We all know how relaxing and satisfying hot showers can be, especially during this time of the year. However, the hot water hitting your skin is not as great as it makes you feel! It opens up your pores and sucks all of the moisture out, leaving your skin looking ashy and dead. Therefore, try to decrease the temperature of the water as you near the end of your shower so that your pores can close and the moisture can stay locked in!
7 Hydrate Yourself
There is no better way to achieve youthful and radiant skin than by drinking lots and lots of water! Beautiful skin requires a sufficient amount of liquid in your body so make sure to drink throughout the day. The recommended amount is usually 8 glasses a day but of course the more, the merrier!
It is time to take the focus off of your face and evenly spread it throughout your body. Taking care of the skin all over can delay aging and promote a healthy appearance. What are some of your tips for taking care of your skin? Share in the comments!
