I like to exfoliate my skin to keep it soft and looking nice. I also like it because it’s a great way to pamper myself after a tough week. If you’ve never exfoliated, or just want to do it better, here are 7 tips on how to exfoliate your skin. I promise, if you follow these tips you will have great-looking, smooth skin!

1. What You Need

The first tip on how to exfoliate your skin is to gather up all the things you need. You are going to need a loofah, a back brush, pumice stone, exfoliating body wash, and moisturizer. These things aren’t options. You really are going to need them to get the smooth skin you want.

2. Before You Shower

(Your reaction) Thank you!

Before I get in the shower I like to do what some call a dry brush. Before my skin is wet I take my dry loofah and rub it over my skin. It gets rid of the dead skin cells so I can get started. This is also really good to do every time you shower even if you aren’t going to exfoliate.

3. Start with Your Feet

(Your reaction) Thank you!

I don’t know about you, but my feet take a beating. Between working out, cleaning, working, shopping and dressing cute in sandals and heels, by the end of the week my feet look rough. I like to let those bad boys soak in a warm basin of water to loosen up the skin. Once in the shower I use my pumice stone starting on my heels to rub away dry, nasty skin.

4. Use an Exfoliating Cleanser

(Your reaction) Thank you!

Hopefully you were able to find a good exfoliating cleanser to use. You want to rub the cleanser on your feet, then your legs and so forth. My tips on how to exfoliate your skin is to work one body part at a time. Massage the cleanser into the skin with a circular motion. Use your loofah and gently remove that dead skin.

5. Don’t Forget Your Back

(Your reaction) Thank you!

Backs are tricky. That’s why you need the back brush. The long handle will help you get all those hard to reach areas. Just move the brush around in a circular motion like you did when exfoliating the rest of your body.

6. Rinse

(Your reaction) Thank you!

After you have covered all your areas you will need to rinse off the exfoliating cleanser. One friend told me to rinse with warm water. Hot water is too harsh on skin. You just uncovered a new layer of skin and you don’t want to hurt it, so follow this tip on how to exfoliate skin and rinse with cooler water.

7. Moisturize

(Your reaction) Thank you!

Finally, right after getting out of the shower you need to moisturize your skin. You want to keep your skin smooth and soft. The best way to do this is by keeping it moisturized with lotion.

Tips on how to exfoliate your skin are really useful if you want smooth skin. I follow these tips and my skin looks amazing. How do you exfoliate? Do you know any other tips and tricks you want to share?
