7 Younger-Looking Skin Tips You Should Know ...

Younger Looking Skin Tips — there are loads of them, all over the internet and in women’s magazines, but some of them conflict with each other and some just don’t make sense! How can you get the best tips for younger looking skin, tips you know you can actually use? Keep reading! Here are 7 younger-looking skin tips you should know… and I know they work, because they’ve been recommended to me by my dermatologist, and my skin does look young!

1 Protect Your Skin from the Sun

First and foremost, if you want younger looking skin, you absolutely must protect it from the sun, all day, every day! The sun’s UVA and UVB radiation can cause skin cancer, yes, but it’s also the biggest contributor to skin aging. Fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots — avoid all of these and keep your smooth, radiant, younger looking skin by using a broad-spectrum sunscreen and a sun hat every day, even when it’s overcast.

2 Don’t Smoke

Also, if you want younger looking skin, and to be healthier overall, it’s imperative that you quit smoking now, today, or better yet, never start smoking! Cigarette smoke contains hundreds of skin-aging toxins, worse than industrial pollution, even, and every time you smoke, you’re exposing your skin to all that nasty stuff!

3 Get Plenty of Rest

Tired skin looks old. It’s true! So if you want younger looking skin, and just to be healthier, get plenty of rest. This is why your 8 hours of sleep every night is called your “beauty rest.”

4 Avoid Harsh Chemicals

It’s odd, but lots of beauty products actually contain chemicals that can harm or irritate your skin, like the foaming agent called Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Check labels before you buy, and if you find that something does irritate your skin, boycott it!

5 Eat a Healthful Diet (antioxidants)

Did you know that eating a healthful, well-balanced diet will help you have younger looking skin? It’s true! All of the delicious fruits we love are loaded with the vitamins antioxidants our skin needs to stay healthy and vibrant and young!

6 Start Young!

The earlier you start taking care of your skin, the better. I’ve been taking care of my daughter’s skin since she was born, helping her form the sunscreen and healthful diet habits early. On the flip side, it’s never too late to start taking care of your skin, either!

7 Smile a Lot

I know, I know, this is counter-intuitive. Smiling will give you wrinkles, but so what? Laugh lines are earned, and they show you’ve spent your life happy, laughing, and smiling. Finally, wrinkles we can be happy about!

Remember what I said! All of these tips for younger looking skin can be started early — and it’s also never too late! My dermatologist has shared these tips with me, and I’m so glad… I may be coming up on 40, but I look at least ten years younger… which of these tips do you think you’ll try first?
