Whether you find yourself breaking out often, or just once in a while, these ways to prevent breakouts can really make your life easier and more beautiful.

1

Wash Your Face

If you’re prone to pimples, one of the best ways to prevent breakouts is to follow a consistent facial cleansing routine; even if you’re exhausted and want nothing more than to fall into bed and sleep. Gently wash your face in the morning and at night using warm water. Choose a facial cleanser that’s appropriate for your skin type, be it oily, dry or normal. Rinse and pat your skin dry when you’re done.

2

Moisturize

Moisturizing your skin keeps it hydrated and healthy, so use an appropriate face cream morning and night. Look for products that are noncomedogenic, which means it’s easier on skin than other items. You might also try creams specific for day and night, which can help produce the results you’re looking for.

3

Use Natural Make-up

Just like with face lotion, choose make-up products that are noncomedogenic, which allows you to look beautiful while also keeping breakouts at bay. This goes for eye shadow, blush, bronzer, foundation and even lip products, which often get on the skin around your mouth. If any specific product causes problems, stop using it and find something else. For me that’s anything that’s tinted pink or purple.

4

Keep Hair Products off Your Face

If you use hair spray, gel or other styling products in your hair, be sure you aren’t getting them on your face too. Those things aren’t designed for your skin so they can often cause breakouts, especially along your hairline and on your jaw. To prevent exposure, place your hand over those areas as you apply the hair product.

5

Use Acne Products

Look for over-the-counter acne products you can use to wash your face. They contain specialized ingredients that can help combat breakouts with proper use. Read the directions carefully because more is not better with some of these products. You might talk to your doctor about the right one for your case of acne.

Limit Your Sun Exposure

I know that doesn’t sound like any fun when summer comes and the beach is calling your name. However, people prone to breakouts can really see an improvement by staying out of the sunshine between 10am and 2pm, which is when the sun’s rays are the harshest. If you must go out, and I don’t blame you, be sure to slather on sunscreen and wear a hat and sun protective clothing. That way you can enjoy soaking up the sun without having to deal with pimples later.

7

Make Healthy Lifestyle Choices

Healthy skin relies on a healthy lifestyle. That means eating a wide variety of healthy foods from each food group, getting lots of exercise, not smoking, getting enough sleep and taking stress relief measures whenever possible. Combined, these choices will have your skin looking radiant all the time.

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

Using too many cleansing products can make the matter worse by drying the skin out, removing the natural oils and causing irritation. Just remember to rinse with cold water after any cleansing routine to close your pores, preventing any bacteria getting trapped in them and causing spots.

The sun makes me feel healthy on my face I try to get 15 mins of sun a day for vitamin d, and I drink 2-3 litres of water a day as where I live is hot! I've just started using the miracle oil coconut oil putting it in my smoothies and a teaspoon a day, I recently just got back from thailand and they swear by coconut oil for skin and hair, I'm a little bit to scared to put on my face but I like taking it internally. ;)

And drinking lots of water daily..
