1. Better Sleep
Sleep is one of the most basic simple habits that will give you healthy skin. Examine your sleeping pattern and see if you can identify any areas where you could improve it. As you sleep, the blood flow to your face increases, and this works towards helping you achieve a more natural glow. A good night’s sleep will also alleviate pesky dark and puffy circles underneath the eyes. Around seven hours per night is the perfect amount of sleep for an adult.
2. Eat Well
It’s not all about the products that work from the outside. You also need to be thinking about helping from the inside with a healthy diet. Stay away from too many greasy foods and sweet treats, as they love nothing more than to make your skin break out. Also, salty foods are responsible for dehydrating your skin which can cause inflammation as a reactionary tactic.

3. Be Wary of Winter Sun
Just because it isn’t hot, it doesn’t mean that the sun is harmless in the winter. You may not get heat stroke and traditional sunburn, but the winter sun’s rays are still harmful and unprotected exposure can cause premature aging and even more sinister problems. To be extra careful, it’s always a good idea to apply a little SPF if you are going to be out in the winter sun for a long period of time.
4. De-Stress
It’s easier said than done in these hectic times, but it really pays off to find time in your week to de-stress. Have you ever wondered why the presidents always look 30 years older after one or two terms? It’s because they have the weight of the world on their shoulders! Commit to spending some time during an evening in tranquil bliss. Light a few candles, get under a blanket or into a bath and read a few chapters of a great book.
5. Antioxidants
Antioxidants are the best friend of healthy skin! Drinking lots of water during the day is a great thing to start with, but you can get even more bang for your buck if you add something like green tea to your routine as well. It’s packed full of antioxidants like EGCG which is known to reduce inflammation and redness in the skin. A cup in the morning or a cup just before bed is an easy habit to take up!
