What's your preferred type of vacation?

1. Going to Bed without Taking off Your Make-up

It’s been said a million times, but it bears saying again. You should never, ever be sleeping with make-up on. It leads to breakouts and leaves nasty germs and bacteria on your pillow, which make your face dirty all over again the next time you lay your head down on your pillow. It only takes seconds to wash your face and will save your skin in the long run.

2. Indulging in Too Many Caffeine Drinks over the Course of the Day

It’s fine to have a cup of coffee or two in the morning, but downing too much caffeine can lead to dismal skin. You might be surprised to find that too much caffeine sucks the moisture out of your skin, leaving it dry and magnifying fine lines and wrinkles. Cut back on caffeine by drinking more water or decaf tea and coffee.

3. Skipping Meals Ruins Skin and Makes You Hungry

Besides making you hungry, when you skip meals, your skin pays the price. When you forgo a meal, you reduce the number of nutrients that your body takes in over the course of the day. The truth is that your skin needs adequate amounts of certain nutrients to keep your skin fresh and healthy. Skipping meals can lead to a deficiency, so make sure you’re getting your three squares every day.

4. Don’t Forget to Patch Test Any New Products You Want to Try

This is especially important if you have sensitive skin or any issues like eczema. Anytime you try a new product that comes into contact with your skin, test a small amount of it in a conspicuous location. If you have a reaction, stop use and look for something else. If not, you’re likely safe to use the product anywhere.

5. Your Hair Products Are Totally Destroying Your Skin

Do you use mousse of hairspray on your locks? If you do, chances are you are getting them on your skin, which can lead to issues. If you have breakouts all along your hairline, you know it could be your products causing the problem. Try holding your hand there to keep the products from settling onto your skin.

6. If You Don’t Wash Your Sunglasses Once or Twice a Week, You Could Be Sorry

Think about it. Your sunglasses sit on your face, which means they pick up make-up, skin oils, dirt, bacteria and anything else they come into contact with. When you put them on your face, all that stuff transfers to you skin. What happens next is breakouts and other skin issues that I know you don’t want to deal with.

7. Does Your Weight Go up and down? Get It under Control Right Now

Do you gain and lose weight all the time? Most of us do. But that can cause skin problems too. When you gain weight, the drop it over and over again, your skin fibers take a beating, which can lead to wrinkling, sagging and dullness. Talk to your doctor about getting a handle on your weight so your skin doesn’t pay the price.

Do you have any of these habits? Are your surprised to find out that it could mess with your skin? What changes do you plan to make now?
