7 Ways to Drastically Improve Your Skin ...

Eliza

You can apply all the skin creams, lotions and potions you want, but if you aren’t caring for your body on the inside, your skin will show it. The things you put into your body (or don’t, for that matter), can absolutely affect how your skin looks and feels. Luckily, caring for your skin from the inside out is pretty easy to do. Here’s everything you need to know, courtesy of the experts at Self magazine.

1

Guzzle the H2O

You’ve heard it before, but it never hurts to hear it again. It’s vital to drink plenty of water each and every day. That old advice about 8 glasses per day is outdated. Now experts say to drink when you’re thirsty and every so often between meals. If your pee is light yellow or clear in color, you are getting enough water. If not, fill up your water bottle and make a point of sipping more often throughout the day.

2

Make Fancy Oatmeal

Oatmeal has plenty of health perks all on its own, but you can beef it up with omega-3 fatty acids, a nutrient your skin needs plenty of to stay looking and feeling healthy and fresh. Sprinkle your next bowl of oatmeal with flaxseeds or walnuts for a good dose of skin healthy nutrients. They both add a tasty nuttiness to your breakfast. Both also work on a cup of yogurt too.

3

Have Salmon for Dinner

Much like walnuts and flaxseed, salmon is a great source of omega-3s. It’s also chock full of protein and iron. Not to mention its delicious flavor. Salmon tastes heavenly grilled or baked with your favorite marinade, herbs and spices. Serve it with a baked potato, rice pilaf, steamed veggies or your other favorite side dishes.

4

Put Beans in Your Salad

Specifically, put garbanzo beans in your salad. Mixed with greens and other veggies, you get an optimal amount of zinc and vitamin C, both of which encourage healthy and glowing skin. Both nutrients work to build elasticity in your skin as well as keeping your complexion bright and radiant.

5

Stock up on Chia Seeds

Yes, they are the same seeds you used to grow your Chia Pets as a kid. However, much research has been done on their effectiveness and they are being touted as a new superfood. They’re inexpensive and easy to find at most supermarkets. The reason they work so well for your skin is because they soak up a huge amount of liquid, making them great for keeping your skin hydrated and healthy. Soak them in water and mix them into your soda or soak them in milk and eat them like yogurt.

Eat Orange Foods

Fruits and veggies that are orange contain beta-carotene, a nutrient that makes your skin glow. You want that, don’t you? You can get it by eating cantaloupe, sweet potatoes, squash, oranges and carrots. Add a couple of servings of orange foods each week and you really increase the amount of beta-carotene in your body. Enjoy that glow!

7

Eat Eggs Anytime of the Day

Eggs aren’t just for breakfast anymore. They make a great meal, morning, noon and night. The reason why eggs are such a great choice for your skin is because they contain sulfur, which helps your body build collagen. That’s important for keeping it looking healthy and young. Have an omelet for breakfast, an egg salad sandwich for lunch or a veggie frittata for dinner. Yum!

"Chia seeds are inexpensive" - where do you shop?

Chia seeds inexpensive? Uhm no they are not.

I purchased a bag of chia seeds for about $15 and it's lasted a really long time. The cost might be a big steep sometimes but it should last a while since only 1 serving can usually be broken up into 2 servings (especially when mixed with veggies or whatever).

Hhhmm no wonder !

And even when it's a serving isn't split into 2, it's lasted a while for me. Maybe I don't eat it enough? Hah

Can you add egg to your diet

Eggs are brilliant esp for ur skin yum yum

Eggs and water work

Try Amazon for chia seeds

Oooo.. Looks like I'm already doing the right thing! My biggest flaw would have to be not drinking enough, but I'm working on it! :-)
