There are so many ways to beat bad skin days. No matter who you are, and no matter hard you try to avoid it, you will almost certainly experience a few really bad skin days in your lifetime. Whether your personal horror is blackheads, whiteheads, redness, flakiness, oiliness or anything in between, there is no getting away from those days when nothing seems to help. Bad skin days might be inevitable, but they don’t have to completely ruin your confidence. There are certain things that you can do to make the skincare process as stress-free and pleasant as possible. Here are some great ways to beat bad skin days.
1. Moisturiser and Oil
Moisturiser and oils are the go-to products for anyone who is prone to getting dry patches, pimples, and redness. Grab a good moisturizer, place a little in the palm of your hand with a few drops of a good serum and apply to give your skin the burst of nourishment that it is obviously looking for. This is definitely one of the best ways to beat bad skin days.
A good concealer can cover a multitude of sins! However, it's important to make sure that the stuff you are using isn’t cheap skin poison! The more chemicals in the mixture, the worse it is going to be for your skin, so you want one that is as creamy and natural as possible, preferably with a tint to give you a lovely glow.
Giving your face a short sharp ice bath at the start of the day is a great way to close your pores up and prevent any dirt and debris from getting in there and clogging them. Ice water can also work against redness and irritation on your skin, calming it down and returning it to a more desirable complexion.
4. Don’t Pick It
Once you have completed all of your basic skincare treatments, make the effort not to keep reapplying, touching and stroking your skin. There are more oils on the tips of your fingers than you might think, so keep well away to give your skin the best chance to thrive.
5. Leave Zits Alone
A big juicy zit can be almost irresistible to touch, but you need to try your hardest to let them go away on their own rather than prematurely popping them. If you don’t want a scar or long-lasting bruising, then use all of your willpower to let your pimples come to a natural conclusion and vanish on their own. It might seem like they are never going to go away, but trust me, they will be gone much quicker if you don’t keep messing with them!
Instead of agonizing over a red patch or a spot of dryness in your skin, practise some self-love to try to bring some positivity in other areas. Celebrate the parts of yourself that you love rather than focusing on the parts that make you unhappy. Skin issues will clear up eventually, it is your opinion of yourself and your outlook on life that needs the most care!
