Acne may be a common problem, but that doesn’t make it easy. If your acne is severe and you are being treated for it medically, good, that’s great. But what if it’s not that severe? Have you tried everything from the skincare aisle for your acne? Maybe it’s time to turn to the power of nature to banish your blemishes and purge your pimples. Here are some homemade face masks to treat acne prone skin:
• 2 tablespoons flour
• ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
• ¼ cup plain yogurt
• 1 teaspoon honey
• A few drops of lemon juice
Mix the turmeric powder and flour together. Now, add a few drops of lemon juice as well as the honey and stir. Slowly introduce the yogurt to this mixture. Keep stirring to make a creamy paste. Apply it on your face and neck and leave for 20 minutes. Remove it using a wet washcloth and then rinse off with clean water for shiny, acne-free skin.
• ¼ cup fresh strawberries
• ¼ cup plain yogurt or sour cream
Before you start, make sure both the yogurt and the strawberries are at room temperature. Mash the strawberries with a fork and then mix with the yogurt (or cream) to make a smooth paste. Or put both ingredients in a blender until smooth. Apply the paste to your face and leave for 15 minutes. Wash with clean water.
• 2 tablespoons of baking soda
• 1 egg white
Simply mix together the baking soda and egg white. Be sure to beat the mixture thoroughly until it becomes fluffy with no noticeable traces of baking soda. Apply it directly on your face and leave there for about 20 minutes. Rinse it off using lukewarm water.
• ¼ cup powdered milk
• Some water
It’s said it’s best to cut down on dairy when you have acne, but you can use milk topically. Take ¼ cup of milk powder and add some water to make it into a thick paste. Apply the paste to your face and leave for half an hour or until it dries completely. Use warm water to wash your face clean.
• 2 tablespoons ground oats
• 2 tablespoons raw honey
• Half tablespoon fresh lemon juice
• 4 drops tea tree oil
Start by grinding the oats and put them in a small bowl. Now, add honey, lemon juice, and tea tree oil to the oats. Mix it really well to form a paste. Apply it to your face and leave for 15 minutes to dry. Use cold water and a washcloth to remove the mask.
• 1 tablespoon cooked pumpkin
• 1 teaspoon raw honey
• 1 teaspoon raw apple cider vinegar
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and mash together. When it forms a thick paste, apply it on your face and leave it there for at least 15 minutes. Use cool water to rinse it off and follow up with your usual cleanser.
• 1 ripe banana
• 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
• 1 teaspoon honey
• ¼ cup rolled oats
Mash the banana thoroughly so no chunks are left. Add the honey and lemon to the banana and mix well. Now add the oats. Mix again and then apply the mixture to your face. Leave it for 20 minutes and rinse it off with water.
Please note, all these masks are designed for one use only. Do not save any pastes that are left. Always make a fresh one.
I hope you find one here that works for you. You might need to try a couple to see which gives the best results.
