When needing some great skin care advice, why not consider several celebrity skin tips along the way? I’m a firm believer that if the stars know what it takes to look great, we can all pull up a chair and take a few notes. You don’t need millions of dollars, or even hundreds, to get some great skin tips from celebrities. In fact, my budget is pretty skinny in the skin care department, yet I can still take advantage of many celebrity skin tips out there. Keep my favorites in mind, and if you have one, feel free to share!
1 Detox Your Beauty Routine
One of my favorite celebrity skin tips is from Natalia Rose, author of the book, Detox for Women. I read Natalia’s book when she first published it three years ago, and my favorite part of the whole book was how she stressed the importance of getting rid of toxic beauty products. Not only have I saved money since doing this, but my skin is also prettier. I now use no chemical-based body washes, lotions, shampoos or toxic makeup. I stream-lined my beauty routine to be as natural as possible and now use coconut oil as lotion, makeup remover and shaving cream and I use vegetable based soaps made from shea butter, sea salt and coconut oil to wash my skin and face with. My makeup is a low cost and very effective, brand of non-toxic makeup and my toothpaste is now a $3 non-toxic brand I buy online. This tip is very simple to do and will save you so much time and money.
2 Use Coconut Oil
As I said above, coconut oil is my go-to all-around beauty product. I learned this tip from Kimberly Snyder, author of The Beauty Detox Solution. Snyder’s famous for her yummy vegan food, but she also briefly mentioned in the book that she used coconut oil for several skin issues. When I implemented this tip, I was amazed at how wonderfully it worked, and mad at myself that I hadn’t known it sooner! I purchase my coconut oil online and one tub usually lasts me about three-four months.
3 Don’t Be a Makeup Snob
Bethenny Frankel is one of my favorite celebrities at the moment because she seems so down to earth, has a great sense of humor, is not afraid to admit her faults, and she’s not a makeup snob. She reportedly uses drugstore products on a regular basis, and I love a celebrity that keeps it real like that.
4 Go Vegan
Ellen DeGeneres is one of my favorite celebrities, as I’m sure she is many of yours too. Ellen is vegan as we know, and she uses no animal based make-up products. She inspires me to be more compassionate, no matter what products I buy, so I always buy non-toxic brands made with no animal products, nor do I buy products that are tested on animals.
5 Use Less
Another tip that I learned from several celebrities, including Natalia Rose and Natalie Portman who is also vegan, is to use less makeup overall. I love getting dressed up just like the next girl, but I’ve learned I really don’t need tons of makeup products. In fact, I feel much more like me without them, and my skin looks much better for it.
6 Drink Roobios
I am now addicted to rooibos tea, and the main reason is it makes my skin glow! I’m serious ladies- get you some rooibos and your skin will do a 180 overnight! Rooibos tea, or red bush tea, is a South African caffeine-free tea that tastes somewhat sweet, almost like vanilla. It is very rich in antioxidants that reduce inflammation, acne, wrinkles and dullness. I notice when I drink it that my skin literally just glows everyday. I learned this tip from Kimberly Snyder from The Beauty Detox Solution, and have since made it a part of my everyday routine. I buy mine in loose leaf form, and brew it in the coffee pot. One pound usually lasts me about two months.
7 Go Green
Most all celebrities who have great skin eat a healthy diet, and eating more greens was one of the best things I learned to do for my own skin. I learned this tip from Natalia Rose in her book, Detox for Women as well. She spoke of how wonderful greens were for us overall, and I started implementing greens into my smoothies immediately. Years later, I read Kimberly Snyder’s, The Beauty Detox Solution, and saw eating greens was one of her personal skincare tips too. Greens do so many wonderful things in your body, including making your skin gorgeous! Eat more of them however you can. You’ll face will clear from breakouts, wrinkles will subside, and your whole body will function better. Just try and see for yourself!
