Start the Year out Right with These Skincare Tips ...

The New Year is upon us and that means you are probably making a resolution to take better care of yourself. If you’re determined to make this the year you get the best skin you’ve ever had, you need these tips to help get you there. By adding each of these things to your routine, you can effectively ensure that you have the most gorgeous skin you’ve ever had. Get ready for some compliments!

1 Quit Staying up so Late and Get to Bed on Time

You’ve rung in the New Year, but now it’s time to create a normal sleeping schedule you can stick to. That’s because lack of sleep can cause dry, lifeless skin, as well as bags under your eyes and even redness on your face. When you get enough sleep, your skin restores and regenerates itself so that you always wake up looking radiant and glowing.

2 Get Your Neck in on the Action

Your neck is one of the first places that can give away your age, even if your face still looks like you’re in high school. Most women totally neglect their neck when they apply moisturizer and anti-aging products, which can lead to sagging, crepey skin on your neck. This year, resolve to spread the love around by applying some of those products to your neck anytime you put them on your face.

3 Start Exfoliating on a Regular Basis

Here’s what I love about exfoliating: it gets rid of all that rough skin and removes dry skin cells as well as other junk that blocks your pores. Doing so on a consistent basis helps keep your skin clean and youthful. Your best bet is to exfoliate your skin at least once or twice a week.

4 If You Make One Resolution, Start Wearing Sunscreen Every Day

Sunscreen is vitally important to making sure you prevent the signs of aging and keep skin cancer from developing. Even if you don’t plan to spend more than a minute or two outside, you should still wear sunscreen. Why? Because exposure from being near windows can also cause damage. Use at least SPF 30 for the best results.

5 Get a Professional Facial

Going to the salon isn’t cheap, but you should use some of the cash you got for the holidays to book yourself a facial. Going in and getting a professional treatment now and then is a great way to totally refresh and revitalize your face and uncover clean, young and radiant skin underneath. Perfect!

6 Quit Picking at Pimples

I know all too well how tempting it can be to pop a pimple or pick at a blemish in the attempt to make it look better. The truth, however, is that picking can lead to scars that you’ll spend the next few months (at least) covering up. Picking also spreads bacteria and germs all over your face, which can cause future breakouts.

7 Do an Overhaul on Your Skincare Products and Make Some Needed Changes

Now that you’re starting fresh, it’s time to pay some attention to what you’re using on your face. Assess your skin and determine if what you’re using is doing the best job on your skin. You should do this for your body and your face. Need some help? Make an appointment with your dermatologist.
