I love when my skin is clear and looking it’s best. On the other hand, when it’s not, I tend to spend a lot of time worrying about it. Turns out there’s a better way to use that time. Instead of freaking out, there are some easy things you can do to clear up your skin, even if you don’t have more than a few seconds to get the job done. These tips come courtesy of the experts at Shape magazine and will change the way you take care of your skin.

1. Use a Clear Body Spray on Acne – 45 Seconds

If you need to shower to get rid of sweat, bacteria and germs, but are running low on time, use a clear body spray instead. These products are designed to get rid of the icky stuff without having to rinse. This can reduce the chances that you’ll get acne on your back, chest and rear end. As soon as you can, though, take a real shower.

2. Wipe Your Face after a Workout to Prevent Pimples – 30 Seconds

Even if you don’t have time to take a full on shower after you exercise, or you want to wait and do it at home in your own shower, you should at least wipe your face to get rid of sweat and bacteria. Yes! Turmeric does wonders for the skin! Besan (chickpea flour) is also amazing for reversing aging, and clear/even out skin tone!

Is exfoliation necessary if your cleanser has exfoliating beads?

I exfoliate my skin with st Ives apricot scrub, I then use a honey and turmeric mask which I mix myself. After leaving this mask on for 20 minutes I wash my face. I then finish by applying some organic coconut oil onto my skin. I find that using natural ingredients which can almost always be found in your kitchen produce better results than chemically infused products. If coconut oil is used 3x a week (before bed) you will wake up with an even complexion, a good way to combat dry skin. If you have oily skin then I would not recommend coconut oil as it is quite dense and will just layer over existing oil rather than being absorbed.
