1. Lavender
Lavender is a great choice for a body butter because of its amazing scent and its effective aromatherapy properties.
Ingredients:
½ cup coconut oil
1 tbsp lavender essential oil
½ cup shea butter
To make:
This is great body butter for first time beauty DIYers because of the simple list of ingredients. All you have to do is add all of the ingredient in to a small pan and heat on a low heat until they are melted together. Hey presto!
2. Rose Hibiscus
This DIY butter is rich in antioxidants and has super anti aging properties thanks to its incredible moisturizing ability.
Ingredients:
1 cup coconut oil
3 tbsp white sugar
1 tsp almond oil
Rose essential oil
2 tbsp water
Brewed Hibiscus tea
Rose petals
Stand mixer
Glass jar
To make:
Simply add all of the ingredients together in the mixer, adding the rose essential oil until you reach your desired strength. Combine and enjoy!

Ingredients:
Zest of 1 orange
1 cup coconut oil
2 tbsp honey
4 drops orange essential oil

To make:
Melt the coconut oil in the microwave and add each ingredient at intervals, stirring in thoroughly. When you have finished, pour in to jar, attach lid and wait for it to become solid. Once solid, beat with a mixer to make the butter.
4. Gingerbread
Sugar, spice and all things nice! This gingerbread butter is not only a wonder to smell, but it also has many health benefits. This body butter isn’t just for Christmas.
Ingredients:
½ cup coconut oil
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp ground ginger
½ cup shea butter
2 tsp vanilla extract
To make:
Melt together the shea butter and coconut oil and leave to chill. Once chilled, beat into the rest of the ingredients with a hand mixer to create the butter consistency.
5. Lemon Vanilla
The scent of sweet vanilla is one of the most irresistible smells ever, but when you add the citrusy burst of lemon to the mix, you have an incredible combination on your hands (and body!)
Ingredients:
½ cup shea butter
5 drops vanilla extract
1 cup coconut oil
½ tsp lemon extract
To make:
This is another two-step process, the first being to melt the coconut oil and shea butter in a pan over a low heat then leaving it to set slightly. After ten minutes in the freezer, add all ingredients in to a mixer and mix until you reach the prefect consistency. Enjoy!

6. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is proven to be great for lots of different things like sunburn, acne and general skin moisturization.
Ingredients:
½ oz Vitamin E oil
4 oz Shea butter
1 oz vegetable glycerine
1. 5 Oz Jojoba Oil

2 tsp Aloe vera gel

This is another super easy body butter to make because it’s a case of throwing everything in to a mixing bowl and beating together until you reach the consistency that you want. No tricks of the trade needed!
7. Peppermint
The smell of peppermint is so incredibly refreshing; just imagine what a body butter with that key ingredient could do on your body!
½ cup coconut oil
¾ cup vegetable shortening
Peppermint essential oil
Optional pink food colouring if desired
Beat the coconut oil and vegetable shortening together until nice and creamy, and then proceed to add the peppermint essential oil and a few drops of pink food colouring if you want your body butter to have funky and cute colour.
