1. Stress

Stress As we grow older, our stress levels tend to increase exponentially which could be one of the main reasons for adult acne. Researchers have found out that in response to high stress levels, our bodies tend to produce more androgens, which stimulate oil glands and hair follicles on the skin, leading to acne.. Therefore in order to fix this problem it is important to keep your stress levels low, by exercising, meditating and taking time for yourself.

2. Bad Cosmetics

Bad Cosmetics Sometimes some of your favorite beauty products can result in a break out, so if you are suffering from adult acne, check the labels on your skin care products. Make sure that they are non-comedogenic, non-acnegenic, and oil-free. You want to make sure that the products you apply to your skin on daily basis are not prone to increase your acne!

3. Cell Phones

Cell Phones You might be surprised to see your favorite technology on this list, but believe it or not your phone can be the cause of your most hated acne. Just think about it, your phones are constantly exposed to many surfaces with bacteria, and the warmth from the phone plus the moisture from your face can create the perfect environment for bacteria to thrive and cause acne. In addition constant rubbing of your phone against your face can cause pimples due to friction. Therefore try to give your phone a rest and clean your phone with alcohol!

4. Sebum

Sebum Another cause of your acne can be sebum which is an oily substance produced by your skin’s sebaceous glands. Sebum tends to clog your pores and attract bacteria, which spells a disaster for your skin. The best way to treat you acne in this case would be to use either cleansers or prescribed medications, which you would have to get from your dermatologist.

5. Hair Styling Products

Hair Styling Products Just like your cosmetic products can negatively impact your skin, your hair styling products can do the same. Styling products can seep onto your forehead, and trap acne-causing bacteria in your pores. Those pores can become inflamed and turn into blackheads or whiteheads. In addition, bangs can also worsen your skin by bringing it in direct contact with pore clogging hair products. So if you notice acne actively showing on and around your forehead try to limit your hair product use or switch to a less toxic brand.

6. Family History

Family History Sometimes your acne problems are not because of your wrongdoing, but they come from your family history. So if you are noticing an acne pattern in your family, it is more than likely that this skin problem is in your genes. Even researchers say that some people are more likely to suffer from acne due their genetic predisposition. If that is the case, getting rid of it may be hard but taking care of your skin with the right cleansers and lotions can decrease your suffering.

7. Hormones

Hormones One of the most common causes of acne are fluctuating hormone levels. An imbalance of hormones that women often experience during their menstrual cycle, pregnancy, menopause or beginning stages of birth control use can cause your sebaceous glands to excrete more sebum and we all know what that leads to! The only way to fix your problem is to get your hormones in check by waiting so they can stabilize themselves or seeing your dermatologist.

I ve problem with pigmentation still dont have solution of it

Sometimes diet also plays an imp role!

I always had problems with my skin, I'm approaching 40 (OMG) and finally found something that helps me. I am prone to clogged pores, pimples and blackheads. I started using Neostrata about 6 months ago and it's truly been life changing! I use the clarifying gel cleanser twice a day in the morning and night, the toning solution level 2 after that, then the mystifying fluid for the daytime, and the clarifying lotion at night. There is also a blemish spot gel that I use when a pimple starts, and that usually stops it dead in its tracks and it never amounts to much! Seems like a huge routine, But it works!

For me it was pcos. The medication helped wonders

Birth control and a no dairy diet cleared my face up entirely for good. I took accutane twice and my acne came back then I changed my diet and that's what worked.

Sorry. That's matifying not mystifying lol

To treat acne, I swear by Dermalogica's 'mediBac' range!

Roaccutine!

I have so many products and nothing seems to work for me Have decided to change my diet and see if it helps cos I'm really fed up
