Aloe vera has been used in herbal medicine and beauty applications for simply ages, like forever. It is a magical plant that contains water, mineral and special little compounds. The compounds –like lectins, mannans and polysaccharides – are very beneficial to skin, which makes aloe vera an ideal ingredient in face packs. And because it’s easily mixed with lots of other beneficial ingredients, there are aloe vera face masks for all skin types.

1. Use This Aloe Vera Face Mask if You Have Dry Skin

You need:
2 Tbsp fresh aloe vera
1-2 inches of cucumber
2 tbsp Cottage cheese
4 seedless dates
A good squeeze of fresh lemon juice

How to make and use:
Put the cottage cheese and aloe vera in a blender and mix. Add the dates, cucumber and lemon and blend until it forms a smooth paste. Apply the paste to your face and upper neck and leave it on for up to 30 minutes. Then, rinse with cold water, followed by a rinse in lukewarm water and finish with a cold water rinse. It feels really nice if you use it from the fridge where it can be kept for a couple of weeks.

2. If You Have Sensitive Skin Try This Aloe Vera Face Mask

Ingredients:
Fresh aloe vera gel
2 tbsp yogurt
2 tbsp cucumber juice
Rose oil

Method
(If you haven’t got a juicer, peel some cucumber and squeeze it over a bowl in a dish towel.) In a bowl, combine the aloe vera, cucumber juice, and yogurt. Add a few drops of rose oil and stir. Apply to your face and neck and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse off with cold water.

3. If You Have Oily Skin or Skin That is Prone to Acne, This Aloe Vera Mask Will Help

You need
1 large aloe vera leaf
2 tbsp Honey

How to make and use
Boil the aloe vera leaf in water until it is soft. Then grind it to form a smooth paste. Add the honey and mix well. Use the paste to cover your face and leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse with cold water. This mask works best if you use it once a week.

4. Want Glowing Skin? Use This Aloe Vera Face Pack

Ingredients:
1 tbsp aloe vera gel
1 tsp honey
1 tsp milk
Turmeric powder
Rose water

Method:
Mix together the honey and milk with a few drops of rose water and a pinch of turmeric powder. To this paste add the aloe vera and mix it all together very well. Apply the paste to the face and neck and leave on for 20 minutes. Use lukewarm or cold water to rinse off.

5. Try This Aloe Vera Face Mask if You Have Dry or Combination Skin

You need:
Aloe vera
Olive oil
Shea butter

How to make and use:
Make a paste by mashing together roughly-equal quantities of aloe vera, shea butter and olive oil. Apply the paste to your face and neck. After 15 minutes rinse it off with cold water.

6. Lifeless, Dull Skin? Treat It to This Enervating Aloe Vera Face Scrub

Ingredients:
Aloe vera
Cucumber
Oatmeal

Method:
In roughly equal quantities blend together some aloe vera gel and cucumber. Then add enough oatmeal to make a thick paste. Apply the paste to your face in a gentle circular motion then leave it to sit for 10 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

7. Mature Ladies – This Aloe Vera Face Pack is for You (or Younger Ladies with Dry Skin)

You need:
Aloe vera gel
Almonds
How to make and use:
Crush some almonds (or use ready store bought ground almonds) and add to aloe vera gel. Make a paste and apply this to your face and neck. Wash off with lukewarm water after 15 minutes.

If you can use fresh aloe vera gel, so much the better, but you can buy it online or from health shops. If you need help here’s a video explaining how to extract the gel from the leaf.
