7 Ways to Minimize Pores Instantly ...
By Sophia

Ways to minimize pores can be varied, depending on where you seek advice. Some people, when it comes to suggesting a way to minimize pores, might swear by a certain beauty product while others may opt for natural treatments. While it’s well known that there’s no way to actually shrink the size of your pores (unfortunately), there are ways you can go about minimizing their appearance. Take a look at a few such tips, below.

1. Exfoliate

Pores are really noticeable when they get clogged and cause break outs. Avoid this by exfoliating your skin at least once a week. It will help remove the dead skin cells and dirt that can block your pores. A light facial scrub or something as simple as using a warm washcloth to exfoliate can do the trick, as anything too harsh can end up irritating your skin instead!

2. Tone It

Using a toner can come in handy when it comes to ways to minimize pores.

Toners that have astringent properties or Witch Hazel can help control oil production and tighten your pores, visibly reducing their appearance.

3. Mask up

Give your skin (and pores) a deep clean by treating yourself to an exfoliating or clay mask. This will help rid your pores of debris and soak up any excess dirt, which can clog up your pores and make them appear enlarged.

4. Pore Strips

A pore strip can help unclog your pores leaving you with fresher, cleaner skin. Pore strips are a guilty pleasure of mine, and one of my favourite ways to minimize pores. There are plenty of DIY treatments you could search for on the internet, or you could just as easily pick a packet of pore strips up at the pharmacy or supermarket!

5. Remove Blackheads

What makes your pores really noticeable? Blackheads! Removing blackheads will instantly make a difference to the appearance of your pores. Removing them on your own can be a bit risky, so seek professional treatment from a beautician if you’re a novice.

6. Wear Primer

When it comes to ways to minimize pores, try using a make up primer. Using a primer before applying foundation will not only give you a smooth base and help even out your skin tone, but also prevent too much makeup from seeping into your pores. A beauty product that does double duty? You’ve got to love that!

7. Lighten up

When it comes to wearing makeup, avoid applying too much. You want to wear the minimal amount that achieves the most coverage. Really thick foundations can settle into your pores and magnify their appearance, which you want to avoid at all costs. Play it safe and stick to sheer or lightweight makeup products.

These are just a few simple ways to minimize pores quickly. For a long term solution for pesky pores, it helps to find a solid skin care routine that works for you. Do you have any tips when it comes to ways for minimizing pores?

Thanks Lisa...I heard good things about the Ponds one but they were sold out when I went to buy it. What about baking powder as a scrub ???? I thought I heard that before but never tried it. I have a horrible time finding any skin products that actually work for me or give me that nice glow. I've spent so much time talking to employees at skin counters I feel like a freak lol and yet I throw it all away anyway !

Also....I've used Aveenos Daily Brightening Lotion and broke out from it :( So doubt I'll try the scrub lol....but maybe the one from Bath and Body !!! Thanks again :)

Has anyone had any luck with the DIY gelatin/milk pore strips? I did it, and it didn't remove anything, it just made my skin soft!

What's a good exfoliator for oily, sensitive skin ???
