Natural Fruit Face Masks for Exfoliating Your Way to Gorgeous Skin ...

Did you know that fruit face masks are almost as good for you on the outside as they are on the inside? We know how good it is to eat fruit and the great nutrition it provides. It works from the inside helping us look beautiful on the outside. But it can also work on the outside. Fruit masks are really good for your skin. The acids in the fruit are excellent exfoliating agents and can also reduce puffy eyes, smooth fine lines and are natural moisturisers. I will stress however that fruit acids can be really strong, so you need to be careful, especially if you have sensitive skin. Don’t leave them on too long and wash off thoroughly. Any sign of irritation, wash off immediately. Here are some natural fruit face masks you might want to try.

Grapes Exfoliating Face Mask

Before you treat or hydrate your skin, it is always good practice to first remove as many dead skin cells as possible. Dead skin cells are just that, dead, so they need to be removed before you can benefit from your chosen hydrating product. Exfoliate before you treat! Grape skins are a rich source of alpha hydroxy acid which works wonders when used for natural exfoliation. This is one of my favorite fruit face masks.

Try this simple recipe for grapes face mask.
Peel and mash a few grapes. Strain and discard (or drink) the juice. Gently massage the skins into your face, avoiding the eye area. Rinse off first with warm water, then close the pores with a cold water rinse.

Pineapple Face Mask

Pineapple contains properties that make it an excellent exfoliation and cleansing ingredient for face masks. This fruit mask is a very effective and completely natural beauty treatment, inexpensive, easy to make at home and contains no unfriendly chemicals. The pineapple will act as an astringent to help clean your skin; the olive oil is a natural moisturiser, which also washes away without leaving a residue and the honey will help to smooth fine lines and reduce puffy bags under the eyes. Try this recipe and have beautiful glowing skin in minutes.

Ingredients:
4 pineapple slices
Olive oil (2-3 tablespoons)
1 tablespoon honey
Place pineapple pieces and olive oil in a blender. Add the honey and process until thick and creamy. Wash face with warm water and dry thoroughly. Apply generous amounts of the pineapple face mask and leave on for 10-15 minutes.
Rinse again with warm water, splash face with cold water and pat dry.

Tip: This mixture is enough for two applications, so place half in an airtight container and store in the fridge until needed.

Peach Face Masks

The peach is a very versatile cosmetic aid. Peach juice makes an excellent lotion which will help to close the pores if applied after you cleanse your skin, and the peach flesh makes a soothing face mask. Whatever form you use it in will aid in making your skin softer and less taut. Try these easy-to-make peach face masks and enjoy the results.

- Peach face mask for Dry Skin
Peel and mash or puree one peach then add about one teaspoon of olive oil. Stir well to combine. Apply generously to face and leave on for about 8 to 10 minutes. Rinse well and pat dry.

- Age Defying Peach face mask
Peel two medium sized peaches, then mash or puree them. Add two tablespoons of whipped cream to this pulp. Apply generously to face and leave on for approximately 15 minutes. Rinse clean with warm water and pat dry.

Strawberry Face Mask for Dry Skin

You tend to moisturize more often during the summer months but sometimes find that dry skin can still be a problem. So why not make use of all the fresh and inexpensive fruit that is available at this time of the year? Strawberries make an excellent fruit treatment for dry leathery skin, as they contain folic acid and vitamin C. This strawberry face mask will clean, moisturize and soften. The juice from the strawberries will help to make your face healthier and the cream will rehydrate dry skin.

Ingredients:
A handful of strawberries (mashed)
Butter or whipped cream (about 1 teaspoon)
Mix both ingredients together. Apply generous amounts to your face. Leave for 10-12 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Splash face with cold water to close pores, then pat dry.
