8 Tips for Dealing with Adult Acne ...

Adult acne is a cruel joke played by nature. We always think of teenagers being the ones to deal with acne and breakouts. I know I, for one, never imagined that I would have to deal with acne problems. Unfortunately, many people face the horrible breakouts of adult acne problems. Luckily, I have put together 8 tips for dealing with acne as an adult.

1 Quit Smoking

Cigarette smoking is highly linked to causing women adult acne. If you smoke and walk around with a broken out face, it may be time to consider quitting. Quitting smoking may not only improve your skin, but will also improve your health and odds against cancer.

Frequently asked questions

2 Food Allergies

Some breakouts maybe the result of food allergies. If you think this may be the case for you, keep a food journal. Document what you eat and the condition of your skin. Try going a couple of weeks without foods you think may be a trigger to your acne and look for improvements.

3 Product Ingredients

Your skin may be sensitive to some of the ingredients in your make up and skin care products. If you have added something new to your routine and noticed a difference in your skin, the new product maybe the cause of your breakouts.

4 Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Salicylic Acid

Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Salicylic Acid (AHA) are known for their abilities to clear up bad skin. AHAs’ work by exfoliating and cleaning the top layer of the skin. It also boost collagen and helps smooth the skin. Salicylic Acid penetrates inside the pores to exfoliate and prevent future break outs.

5 No Touching

Keep your hands off of your face. Your hands touch everything, and pull in dirt and oil. When you touch your face you are putting that dirt and oil on your skin and causing it to get into your pores clogging them up.

6 Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree Oil is a natural disinfectant that can help against adult acne. By dabbing a small amount onto blemishes you can help breakdown the bacteria that causes breakouts and speed up the healing process without removing the skin’s natural moisture.

7 Drink More Water

If you aren’t drinking at least 8 full glasses of water each day, it is time to start. I’m sure you already know how important water is to your body. It is also important for your skin. It helps keep the body and skin hydrated.

8 Don’t Pick

As hard as it may be, avoid picking at your zits. When you pop a pimple the bacteria inside oozes out onto the skin. It’s that bacteria that causes your skin to break out in the first place. Now you just let out on your face to infect more area, leading to more breakouts.

We all know how ridiculous adult acne can be. None of us want it, but unfortunately many of us have to deal with it. Try making these changes and let me know if you have seen any positive results. Also share your own adult acne tips.
