7 Super Easy Camping Skincare Tips You Can Use for the Rest of the Summer ...

By Eliza

Spending time in a tent out in the great outdoors is one of the best parts of summer, so these camping skincare tips are just what you need. All that time outside isn’t exactly pampering for your skin, especially the skin on your face. Don’t worry – you don’t have to give up your camping trips. You can go to your favorite sites and never have to worry about your skin. Use these camping skincare tips and you’ll see just what I mean.

1. Wear Sunscreen

You knew that was going to be the first on my list of camping skincare tips, didn’t you? If you follow my posts you know I am a strong advocate of wearing sunscreen anytime you spend time outdoors. If you’re going camping, be sure you pack extra because you’re going to need to reapply every two hours for full protection. Whether you plan to sit around relaxing, go fishing or spend the days hiking, make sure you wear a broad spectrum sunscreen at all times.

2. Spray on Insect Repellant

There’s nothing that makes your skin itchier than bug bites. At the same time, if you’re covered in them, chances are your skin is red and blotchy too. Protect yourself by spritzing on bug spray during your camping trips. This is especially important at dusk when the bugs come out, as well as anytime you go hiking. Wear protective clothing as well and you’ll head home with smooth, beautiful skin.

3. Moisturize

You probably already slap on moisturizer at least once a day, right? When you’re camping, it’s especially important to apply extra moisturizer. It helps keep your skin hydrated during the heat and keeps it looking healthy and radiant no matter what happens on your camping trip. That includes both your face and your body.

4. Bring Your Lip Balm

It’s easy to forget about the skin on your lips, but when you’re camping you’ll be sorry if you don’t protect it. This skin is some of the thinnest on your body and needs lots of care if you’ll be outside. Wear a lip balm with sunscreen to prevent sunburn and protect your lips from wind and heat.

5. Take Your Make-up off

I don’t usually wear make-up when I camp, but sometimes I wipe on some foundation for the extra sun protection. If you do decide to wear make-up when you camp, make sure you bring along remover so you can take it off while you sleep. Even if you’re crashing out in a sleeping bag, you still need to take your make-up off to prevent clogging your pores and causing skin problems I know you don’t want to deal with.

6. Cleanse

After a day outdoors, your skin is exposed to sunlight, dirt, debris and various other things. That makes it vitally important to cleanse your skin before crawling into your sleeping bag. That includes your face and body. Take along some wipes for a quick clean up. If you have access to a shower or running water, you can use a washcloth and your usual cleansing products.

7. Be Careful

One of the best ways to protect your skin while you’re camping is to use caution. Besides all the other items on this list, be sure to be aware of your surroundings. That way you don’t get injured, which can leave you with skin lacerations or wounds that will leave you with scars on your skin.

Do you love camping? It’s one of my favorite things, but only for a couple of nights. After that, I need to get back home to a real bed and running water. Will you use any of these tips on your next camping trip?
