1. Tanning

Of course, this is going to top the reasons why your skin could look older. We ALL know how this affects our skin. Now, I’m not saying going out in the sun sometimes is going to make you look older, I mean going to the tanning bed every day and over doing it will. This will make your skin look leathery and once you get older, your skin will look rough and even droopy.

2. Drinking

Wrinkles, loss of collagen, elasticity, redness, dehydration and puffiness are all ways your skin will start to look old fast due to drinking. However, it’s the amount and frequency of your drinking that really matters. So don’t worry ladies, your drinking on the weekends shouldn’t affect your skin just yet. Just make sure you follow the rule - everything in moderation.

3. Smoking

This of course will make your skin look older and can even make your skin look discolored. Not only is your skin affected, but your teeth as well. With yellow teeth and bad skin, it really does make your overall appearance look a lot older than your age. It is said that smokers in their 30s have facial wrinkles similar than those of nonsmokers in their 50s. Yikes!

4. Not Taking off Your Makeup

My grandmother always told me this is the number one beauty tip. Before you go to bed, you should ALWAYS take off your eye makeup as well as your foundation. Your skin needs to breathe and it is very important to let that happen during the night. Leaving your makeup on will result in wrinkles (eek!) and will ultimately make you age faster.

I know we have all heard this over and over again, but this is a major factor in your overall life. Of course, if you are tired, you aren’t going to work properly. If you are tired, you won’t have the energy to work out or go about your daily tasks. Make sure to get 7-8 hours of sleep a night, but as you get older it is ok to push it to 6 hours a night. Everybody knows the amount of sleep they need to feel awake and ready for their day, so aim for that if possible.

6. Makeup

This can play a huge factor in breakouts which in the long run will make your skin look older. The heavier the makeup, the more you are clogging your pores and the more your skin cannot breathe. If you are just running to Walmart, or hanging out at home, try to wear nothing or your face (or if you need too, minimal makeup).

Everything in moderation, and that goes for working out. If you are just focusing on doing cardio, you will lose weight fast (if you are eating properly of course). Too much cardio can result in fast weight loss, and can make someone look a lot older for being too skinny.
