Works for the Signs of Aging

No one wants to look in the mirror and see fine lines, wrinkles and age spots. However, it’s a fact of life, but that doesn’t mean you have to grin and bear it. One of the things you should know about microdermabrasion is that it can be used to keep you looking young. It will improve the discoloration caused by aging and can help combat lines too.

2

Treats Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are a common occurrence during pregnancy, but can also crop up with weight gain that isn’t associated with pregnancy. They are formed when the skin stretches beyond its limits. Many a mother has cursed her striations and while there is no way to prevent or cure them, microdermabrasion can help lighten stretch marks and make them a lot less noticeable.

3

Treats Acne

When you have acne breakouts, it can sometimes leave behind scars. While you can often cover them up with make-up, microdermabrasion can help lessen their appearance and make it easier to keep them covered up. When you undergo the procedure, it helps remove the top layers of your skin, which lets the younger, better looking skin shine through.

4

Thickens Collagen

Collagen is the substance in your skin that keeps it tight, fresh and radiant. As you get older, your collagen thins out, which is what causes wrinkled, droopy skin. When you have a microdermabrasion treatment, it helps keep your collagen thick and healthy. That makes your skin look strong, smooth and healthy all the time.

Uses Different Particles

There are a couple of kinds of particles that technicians use for microdermabrasion. The most common ones are crystals and diamond flakes. You might think that these rough pieces would cause tears and wounds, but they are pretty tiny and actually work to gently exfoliate your skin, removing dead skin cells and making your complexion bright and healthy.

Famous Quotes

Men in general judge more from appearances than from reality. All men have eyes, but few have the gift of penetration.

It Doesn’t Hurt

Microdermabrasion might sound painful, but it really isn’t. Many women have it done on their lunch break, then head back to work. It can be a bit uncomfortable, but for most women it feels similar to a light exfoliation at home. If it does hurt, stop the technician and let her know. She can probably adjust so it feels better.

You Can do It at Home

Did you know that you can buy home microdermabrasion kits? They aren’t as powerful as the treatments you can have done at the office, but can do a pretty good job. This allows you to do the procedure yourself at home anytime you have a few minutes. It’ll save you money and time, and who doesn’t want that?

How often do you get a microdermabrasion treatment? Do you do it at the spa or at home? Let us know if there’s anything else important to know about it that we should know.

@nathalie which machine do you have? I'm deciding which MD machine to purchase..

Sorry Adelaide.. I go to a therapist as a client, it's the latest one she uses, I'll find out cxx

Have one every month, love them!!

Micros are great! Just be sure to not get any waxing or be exposed to the sun(I do not preform micos in the summer because of this) for about a week before and after your treatment. Also, inform your Esthetician on what medications you may be on. Some medications such as accutane(worst idea ever) thins the skin out to point where even plucking one little hair or a scrap against a wall can cause bad injury and lead to scaring. Be sure to double check sanitation protocols at spa before scheduling appointment. Please review any at home micro product before use for some are very harsh and could easily irritate or burn sensitive skin types. Hope all this is helpful!
