Every girl wants flawless skin that induces envy in the other ladies. Sometimes knowing what’s getting in your way is just as valuable as knowing what you should be doing. 1. You Hit the Drive-Thru Every Day at Lunchtime
Yes, I know that fitting in time for a meal is tough during a busy day, but you should absolutely be making the effort. Fast food is full of fat and calories and very low in the nutrients that your skin needs to look and feel healthy. When you make it a habit to eat fast food, your body may become deficient and your skin will show it. Packing a healthy sandwich or salad full of veggies at home is easy and your skin will thank you.
2. You Touch Your Face All the Time
Touching your face may seem harmless enough, but consider all the germs and bacteria your fingers come into contact with during the day. While they might not make you sick, touching your face transfers them to your skin where they can get into your pores and cause a breakout. Stop touching your face all the time and you might notice that your skin clears up really quickly.
3. You Skip Your Workout Because It’s so Much Work
I’m not a huge fan of exercise and I know I’m not alone. However, experts say that your workout helps increase healthy blood flow and keeps your weight at a healthy number. In fact, one study shows that regular exercisers have much clearer and healthier skin than those who skip the workout. What more of a reason do you need to grab your running shoes and hit the pavement?
4. You Go to Bed without Washing Your Face
Even on the latest night or most stressful day, you should never go to bed with your make-up on. You would be shocked to find out just how much crud your face harbors after a day out in the world. Sleeping on it gives it just the chance it needs to work its way into your pores. And you leave some behind on your pillowcase, which can transfer onto your skin the next time you lay your head down. It only takes a couple of minutes to suds up, so get it done!
5. You “Forget” to Wear Sunscreen Every Day
This is important all over your body, not just on your face. Any skin that is going to be seeing sunlight should be coated with a good amount of sunscreen. Proper sun protection helps prevent discoloration and wrinkles and helps reduce your risk of skin cancer. Make sure you apply it every single day and you will notice a great looking change to your skin.
6. You Don’t Carry a Water Bottle with You Everywhere You Go
Your skin relies on adequate hydration so make sure you are drinking lots of water each day. It’s easy to remember if you carry a cute water bottle with you. Unsweetened tea also counts. Stay away from soda, sports drinks and energy drinks because they are high in sugar, which contributes to dull, aged skin. Flavor your water with berries, cucumber or lemons if you want.
7. You’re Wearing the Wrong Skincare Products
This goes for creams, lotions, cosmetics and anything else you apply to your skin. Look for products that are formulated for your specific skin type. Whether that’s dry, oily, normal or anything else. Choosing the right products enhances your skin and helps it look as lovely as it can. Talk to your dermatologist if you need helping figuring out your needs.
