The 10 Step Korean Skincare Routine ...

One thing about this summer heatwave that isn’t so positive is that it can really take a toll on your skin. Between the sweat, the excess oils being produced, and the sheer fact that you are sometimes too exhausted from the weather to even bother, your skin might have taken a bit of backward step recently. That’s okay! There’s no shame in it; we are all in the same boat. One thing I can say, though, is that those of us who are determined to get back in the swing of good skincare are all about to start one of the best skincare routines in the world. Here is the 10 step Korean skincare routine!

1

Pre Cleanse

Before using your normal cleanser, do a deep dive on your face with extra makeup wipes to ensure that as much debris and product is removed from around your eye and lips as possible.

2

Cleanse

You can then go ahead and treat your skin with a normal water-based cleanser. This is pretty much the standard base of any good skincare routine and why Korean women have gorgeous skin.

3

Exfoliate

Use a nice soft exfoliating cleanser to focus on the areas of your face that need some special attention, for example, around your nose or along your t-zone. These areas are more susceptible to outbreaks than others.

4

Tone

Toner is the next step. You want to find a good quality toner that is not alcohol based, because that can sometimes lead to irritation if you have sensitive skin. I personally like any toner that is lavender infused.

5

Essence

Next, you want to use an essence. The difference between an essence and a serum is that whilst a serum cleans and preps your skin, an essence can also improve its health too. It can help your face to become super clear.

Serum

Of course, that doesn’t mean that you should skip serum, that comes next! It will brighten and plump and improve the texture of your skin, as well as helping to reverse small signs of UV damage that might be present.

7

Sheet Mask

Now it’s time for a good old fashioned sheet mask. There are so many different cool varieties to pick from these days that it’s just down to a matter of personal choice.

8

Eye Cream

Next up is eye cream. You should invest in a nice thick eye cream that is applied twice a day, once in the morning and once in the night. The skin on your eyes is the most delicate on your entire face, so it needs good protection and care.

9

Face Moisturizer

You can tackle this from a couple of different angles. You should have a nice light moisturizer to wear during the day, and then at night something a little more heavy duty that will work to lock in the moisture for your skin whilst you sleep.

10

SPF

A little application of SPF to finish things off in the morning is always a good move, even if you aren’t going to be exposing yourself to direct sunlight. Try to find one that is Zinc based and all natural!
