Women across the globe want beautiful, radiant and young looking skin just like you do, but maybe they go about it differently. It’s great to share our tips with the women all around us, so without further ado, here are some great skincare secrets from around the world that I think you’re going to love just as much as I do.
1. Fill the Tub with Milk
Ok, not all the way up, but pouring an ample amount of milk in your tub with the water is great for glowing skin, according to woman all over France, making it one of the most glamorous skincare secrets from around the world. The lactic acid in the milk helps soften and smooth your skin without any harsh chemicals or rough exfoliating items. Just pour a couple of cups of milk into your warm bath water and take a nice, long soak. You can also use cream for the same benefits.
2. Escape from the City
When you’re a city dweller, there are certain sacrifices you have to make. One is the pollution that does a number on your skin. Bulgarian women make it a point to escape the big city for at least a week every so often. That way, their skin can take a break and rejuvenate. You can do the same by spending a few days camping, hiking or relaxing in the country.
3. Make a Grape Face Mask
Grapes taste great and have tons of benefits for the inside of your body. It turns out they’re great for the outside too. In Chile, women make paste out of grapes and use it as a face mask. You can do the same by combining the mashed grapes with a bit of flour to hold them together and smearing it on your face. Leave it for about 10 minutes before washing with warm water.
4. Wash with Rice Water
Rice is a super cheap diet staple, but you can use the water after it’s done cooking to clean your face. Chinese women swear by the technique because it helps pull dirt and debris from your pores and leaves your facial skin looking radiant and fresh. So next time you make rice, save the rice water and use it to wash up.
5. Cut up a Potato
Do you suffer from under eye bags in the morning? So many of us do and I can bet you’ve tried a multitude of things to combat them. Make like the Spanish and lay cold, thin potato slices over your eyes for several minutes. This is perfect for reducing the swelling so you look like you’re well rested, even if you’re not. Thinly slice the potato, put the slices in a bowl of water and keep them in the refrigerator so they’re ready anytime you need them.
6. Take a Cold Dip
If you were a woman living in Germany, chances are you’d get a Kneipp treatment, which is basically just treading cold water for a set amount of time. The practice is supposed to amp up your circulation, which can leave your skin looking healthy and glowing. You can copy the technique by blasting your body with cold water in the shower.
