There are so many essential ways to take care of your skin to keep track of this summer. Whether you’re trying to protect your skin from sun damage, simply want to give your skin a chance to breathe, or even want to deeply moisturize your skin, this list will provide you with the easiest ways to take care of your skin this summer!
1. Switch out Your Makeup
During the summertime, it’s important that you switch your makeup. Not only can switching to a lighter makeup help your skin breathe a little better, but it’s also important to switch to a makeup with a high SPF. This tip is one of the most important ways to take care of your skin during the summer. Your skin will thank you, trust me!
2. SPF, All Day, Every Day
After you’ve properly educated yourself on which SPF is right for you, use it, and use it every day. It might seem like a hassle, but depending on how much time you spend in the sun on a regular basis, it’s necessary to protect your skin a little bit better than you would during the rest of the year!
3. Don’t Forget Your Lips!
It’s easy to neglect your lips when you’re preoccupied with your new sunscreen skincare routine, but don’t let that happen! Just invest in a (usually cost-friendly) lip balm with an SPF, and you will be on the right track for the rest of the summer!
4. Coconut Oil
I don’t know where you’ve been hiding if you haven’t tried coconut oil yet, even just once, but if you haven’t, go out and grab a jar. Most people like to use it on their hair, but I found it to be a mess in my hair but a joy as a lotion. It’s the most moisturizing lotion I’ve ever used and I know exactly what’s going on my skin, so I personally love using it. It’s also perfect for the summertime, because it leaves you with a rich coconut smell.
5. Look into Spray Tanning
If you’re just not ready to ditch that summer glow just yet, look into artificial options. You’d be surprised at just how real some of the results can look. If you find the right spray tan that works with your skin, you may never go back to real tanning!
6. Ditch the Makeup
If you’re willing to go this far, ditch your makeup every once in a while this summer. Whether you try going without makeup everyday or just one day a week, letting your skin breathe is the perfect remedy for any skin problems you may have. If you’re ready and willing to ditch your makeup, you will not regret it.
7. Keep Hydrated
Keeping hydrated is so simple, yet it’s so often forgotten. During the chaos of our day-to-day lives, it can be easy to forget water, but don’t let that happen! Even if you need download apps that remind you to drink water and track your intake (they exist!), then do so! You will be shocked at just how better your skin feels.
