7 Magnificently Easy Ways to Look Young No Matter Your Age ...

By Eliza2 Comments

Most women want some ways to look young. I know I do. Obviously I don’t want to look like I’m in high school since I have three kids, but I wouldn’t mind shaving off a couple of years. It turns out that’s as simple as making my skin look great with some easy steps that can actually also take some time off my routine in the morning. If you want some ways to look young, you’re in the right place. Get started with these effortless tips.

1 Skip the Powder

Powder has its value, but to be honest, I haven’t worn it since high school and it turns out that's one of the easiest ways to look young. That’s because the longer it’s on my face, the more it creeps into all my fine lines and wrinkles, which just makes them all that more obvious. I still wear foundation to even things out and hide blemishes, but the powder doesn’t have a place in my make-up bag anymore.

Frequently asked questions

2 Boost Your Vitamin C Intake

Vitamin C plays a role in collagen production, which means it’s great for keeping your skin looking young and fresh. That’s true for the skin on your face, but it’s also beneficial for the skin all over your body. You could just pop a Vitamin C supplement, but a diet that contains at least 75 milligrams of the nutrient each day is even better since healthy foods do so much more than make your skin look young. Oranges, kiwis, bell peppers, grapefruits, strawberries and tomatoes are great sources.

3 Try Bronzer

Nothing announces your age like sunspots and age spots that tend to crop up on your skin due to your years of exposure to the environment, sun damage and those college years you spent living on pizza and beer. By adding bronzer to your routine you can mask those discolorations while also giving your skin a healthy glow. Mix a bit of bronzer with your foundation so you can be sure you apply it evenly, or use a large brush to apply bronzer on your cheeks, nose and forehead.

4 Add Oil to Your Salad

Instead of reaching for the ranch, combine a bit of olive or canola oil with vinegar on your salad. By combining greens with the oil, your body is better able to absorb the vitamin E and other antioxidants that your salad contains. That means they can work their magic to a higher degree by fighting free radical damage and keeping your skin looking youthful and glowing no matter how old you are.

5 Wear the Right Make-up

Visit the make-up counter at Macy’s or Nordstrom’s and ask for a color assessment. You might be surprised to find that the colors you’re wearing are washing you out or emphasizing your age-related lines and wrinkles. Wearing the right colors on your eyes, cheeks and lips can really enhance your youthful features and draw the eye away from the aspects of your skin that age you.

6 Get Enough Protein

Protein plays a role in virtually every aspect of your skin, including appearance, collagen production, cell turnover and structure. That makes it an important nutrient in your daily diet. Choose lean protein, such as sirloin steak, fish, chicken breast and pork loin chops. Eggs, low-fat dairy foods, beans and nuts are also great options.

7 Don’t Forget Your Hands

Besides your face, your hands are a dead giveaway as to your age. That is unless you care for them properly. The best advice is to rub your facial products into your hands. Because the skin there is similar in thickness to that on your face, it follows that your skincare products would be effective on both places. I also rub sunscreen on the backs of my hands when I’ll be outside so the skin there isn’t damaged by the UVA and UVB rays.
