Applesauce

Applesauce It’s not just for kids anymore. Apples are great for homemade face masks because they can both boost the collagen and elastin in your skin, leaving it looking healthy, young and fresh. You can use a blob of applesauce on its own by simply rubbing it on your face and letting it sit there for a couple of minutes. You can also combine applesauce with other face mask ingredients to group the benefits.

2

Avocado

Avocado Avocados taste delicious, but their creamy flesh also makes them something your skin will love. Avocados are a rich source of essential fatty acids, which are a nutrient that helps keep your skin healthy and hydrated. You get those benefits from eating avocados, but slathering them on your face helps get the beneficial ingredients deep into your skin. Mash the avocado first to make it easier to spread.

3

Sugar

Sugar Plain, white sugar is a great exfoliator, and my top source when I make a face mask. You can’t use it plain, but combined with about equal parts olive oil, it’s great for softening your skin and leaving it looking fresh. Gently massage the mixture into your skin, then rinse with warm water. This face mask works wonderful on your entire body too, so use it all over.

4

Egg Yolk

Egg Yolk You’ve probably heard that egg whites are good for your skin, but so are the yolks. Not only can they help reduce clogged pores but they also encourage healthy skin turnover. They are also loaded with retinol, which can help fight bacteria on your skin and keep oily skin under control.

5

Strawberries

Strawberries If you take a look at the ingredients on your acne fighting skincare products, you’re probably going to see salicylic acid. Well, it turns out that strawberries contain this naturally, so they’re perfect for applying to your face in a mask. Mash the berries, use them to gently massage your skin, then let them sit there for a few minutes. Rinse well with warm water and get ready to see glowing and beautiful skin beneath.

Famous Quotes

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.

Papaya

Papaya Papaya contains a powerful enzyme called papain. It plays a role in stimulating collagen growth and eliminating skin cells so your healthy, youthful skin can shine through. Use the fruit in a homemade face mask and your skin will thank you for years to come. Cantaloupe and pineapple are also good sources of papain, so you can pretty much use them all interchangeably. Or, combine a couple for a tropical mask that will smell great too.

7

Coconut Milk

Coconut Milk Coconut milk is delicious for baked goods and ethnic recipes, but it also does wonders for your facial skin. Its properties provide a deep clean to your skin, leaving it fresh and glowing. It’s loaded with essential fatty acids, but it won’t leave your skin looking oily.

What ingredients you use on your face? I’ve heard honey is great for acne. I don’t get a lot of zits (thank goodness), but I intend to give it a try next time I do. Let me know your results.
