Some of the best facial oils for beautiful skin are not well known. Many of them are made from obscure sounding trees that only grow in Africa. Yet, these are some of the best facial oils you can use. In the last few months, I have switched from using typical moisturizers to using pure oils for my skin. The results have been amazing! My skin is much clearer than ever before and very moisturized. I have been using more common oils like coconut oil and apricot kernel oil, but the oils I am going to discuss here have wonderful skin beautifying properties and when I need oil again I might try one of these oils.
1. Argan Oil
Argan oil is well known for its ability to add shine and moisture to hair without weighing it down, and while it is great for hair it is also one of the best facial oils you can use. It is rich in vitamins A and E, which are great for skin health. It also has omega 6 and 9 fatty acids that help plump skin and keep the moisture barrier healthy. Argan oil is a great oil to use if you have psoriasis, eczema, or acne. You might also want to consider using it if you are looking for an anti-aging oil because it helps skin look young.
2. Moringa Oil
Moringa oil comes from the seeds of the moringa tree, which is found in Africa and India. I had never heard of this oil until recently, but I am glad I discovered it because it is wonderful for skin. This oil has vitamins A and C, both of which will help your skin look its best. Vitamin C is especially great for skin because it reduces the appearance of brown spots. If you have acne, moringa oil might become your new best friend. This oil regulates the sebum level in skin, which helps keep skin from becoming too oily or dry. This decreases your chances of having an outbreak. Additionally, the anti-inflammatory effects are beneficial for skin that is inflamed from acne. While this is a great oil to use if you are acne prone, it benefits all types of skin due to its ability to regulate moisture.
3. Marula Oil
Rich in vitamins C and E and beneficial fatty acids, marula oil is great for a variety of skin types. It would be a great oil to choose for those of you who have dry or dehydrated skin. Also, it is very calming for sensitive skin because of the fact that it has the perfect pH for skin. While this oil is wonderful for moisturizing dry skin and calming sensitive skin, its anti-microbial properties make it a great choice for people who get acne. As you can see, this really is a facial oil that is good for just about every skin type.
4. Mongongo Oil
Mongongo oil is an oil that is made in Africa and is great for sun damaged skin and is very hydrating for dry skin. Not only does mongongo oil promote cell repair and reduce redness and inflammation, it also has a special fatty acid called eleostearic acid. Eleostearic acid is a fatty acid that will be of much interest to those of you who spend time in the sun. This fatty acid has the remarkable ability to act as a natural sunscreen! I am sure it doesn’t equate to SPF 60, but added protection is always a good thing.
5. Baobab Oil
Baobab oil is very rejuvenating for skin. It has antioxidants that reduce DNA damage in skin cells helping skin look better. It has the unusual benefit of being a source of Vitamin D, which helps skin look brighter when applied topically. Aside from Vitamin D, baobab oil also has the beautifying A and E vitamins. If you have dry or damaged skin, you will definitely want to give this oil a try.
6. Kalahari Melon Seed Oil
The Kalahari Melon is a melon that grows in the Kalahari Desert, and the oil that is produced from the seeds is excellent for skin. This oil has strong moisturizing properties from the omega 6 fatty acids, which are abundant in Kalahari Melon seed oil. It also is a great source of phytosterols. Phytosterols are plant sterols that maintain the barrier function of skin. This will help your skin hold moisture in, preventing it from drying out. In addition to being extremely moisturizing, Kalahari Melon seed oil will help make your skin nice and smooth.
7. Evening Primrose Oil
Evening Primrose oil is one of the few oils that is rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). GLA is a very healing omega 6 fatty acid that helps a variety of problems, including skin complaints. GLA has the ability to decrease the inflammation, itching, and flaking associated with eczema. It also helps treat rosacea through its anti-inflammatory properties. Acne is another skin complaint that evening primrose oil is useful for. The GLA in the oil helps dilute the sebum that causes acne, which means fewer breakouts!
Each and every one of these oils is very beneficial for skin. Not only will they help your skin be healthy, but they will also make your skin beautiful. Since switching to facial oils, I find my skin is much healthier than when I used moisturizers. Even expensive department store brands don’t compare to facial oil.
