Tea Tree Oil An option to treat keloid scars and help decrease their appearance is to apply tea tree oil to the scar. Some people prefer to use tea tree oil soap on the area twice a day. You can also buy tea tree oil and dilute it with water and apply it to the area. Tea tree oil is extremely potent, so mix one part tea tree oil to three parts water at the minimum. If you have sensitive skin you might want to mix the oil with aloe instead.

Aspirin A popular home remedy for keloid scars is to apply aspirin to the area. Aspirin is frequently used on acne and it has also been known to decrease the size of keloids. Crush about three aspirin tablets until they form a fine powder. Next, add a few drops of water until it forms a paste. Apply the paste to the keloid and let it dry for about 15-20 minutes, then gently wash off.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar Apple cider vinegar seems to be a really popular home remedy these days, right?! While this home remedy has some mixed reviews, it has proved to be helpful in healing the scars for many people. Simply apply some apple cider vinegar to the affected area and massage it in. Allow it to dry and reapply it several times a day for the best results.

7

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera A milder yet safe and helpful treatment for keloid scars is aloe vera. The aloe vera plant is very effective on a range of skin conditions and it can help reduce inflammation, moisturize the skin and prevent infection. For best results, clean the affected area and apply fresh aloe vera gel to the keloid scar twice a day.

While there are more invasive ways to treat keloid scars, I wanted to share some of the more non-invasive and simpler remedies. With any home remedy, test your skin to ensure you don’t have an allergy to the product before you use it and always start with a small area first in case you have a reaction to it. On 'Flavor of Love', Deelishis covered the keloids on her shoulders by drawing flowers on them. They were kinda cute.

Will these work on old keloids?

Pls anyone help me

This is a problem I had my entire life starting about puberty age. 1st one came from falling against head of a big nail in chicken house. My adopted mom used to say she hoped it was cancer and hoped I died. Sometimes I wish the latter had happened. After 1st one many more came up. Most in torso region. Thank God I never had any on my face. For those that think they are just spots on skin & don't hurt.... Bologna! They can be quite painful. Burn, itch and stabbing pain that may not let up for days. I have used ice & laid where cold air blew on the one hurting. I had painful steroid injections.... Many times. I've used silicone sheets. I had a plastic surgeon remove many & I've been told he butchered me. I had skin grafts & skin removed from my butt to cover large sections removed. I wore burn scar jacket a long time to try compression. I can't say why some methods worked on some scars and others just got worse. To make it worse this is a heredity type thing. Don't know anyone in my family with it but I passed this on to my kids. They all have it. Worried now that grandkids may inherit it. I've had some ask if contagious. I've had some say, "Oh my God! What happened to you? Were you burned or in a terrible accident?" I love the beach but can't wear a bathing suit or people will ask questions. It caused problems in every relationship so I am a loner. If I want to discourage someone all I do is show a few scars & I never see them again. I now rescue dogs. They don't judge or ask questions & love me no matter what. Being depressed & even suicidal goes with this. You have no idea what its like. I have not tried makeup for so many raised places. Just too much I'd need & too expensive. The one I did try on a few came off on my clothes when I'd sweat. I feel for anyone that has this.

Please am having keloid for about 8months now what can I use on it..can I used tea tree oil to get reduction

I've had keloid scaring on my chest I'm never going to get rid of it I'm afraid I've had open heart surgery in 2001 then again in 2012 and then again in 2014 grr all the same surgery I'm getting married for the second time this September and I want to conceal this damn scar oh and I have a pacemaker scar to had pacemaker put in a week after heart surgery then my heart healed and it was taken out in November 2014

Everyone says I'm pretty but when they see the scar on my leg, they will go 'uhhhh'. And it makes me less confident. And that's also the reason why I don't wear shorts in summer. Hate that. But now i don't bother about it anymore. But of course it would be better if i could kinda make the color lighter. I hope these tips help. Thx

This is really awesome! I have one near my wrist from a bad wreck and it bothers me because people always ask about it and even ask if it's a burn...lol. Thanks for the tips! :)
