1

Moisturize More

hair, eyebrow, face, hairstyle, nose, You know that slathering on lotion is a great idea when you get out of the shower, but that’s not the only time you should be doing it. So, this year, make one of your skin resolutions to pump up the moisture to your skin. When your skin is hydrated, it looks healthy, young and radiant. Slather on the lotion several times each day, especially if you have very dry skin and you’ll love how you look all year long.

2

Wear Sunscreen

hair, human hair color, clothing, blond, person, If you read my posts, you know how passionate I am about wearing sunscreen. Make this the year you to start wearing more of it. That means putting on SPF any day of the year, but especially when you spend time outdoors. I wear it under my make-up every day and all over my body if I plan to be outside for more than just a couple of minutes. You should too! That way you have protection against skin cancer and signs of aging.

3

Scrutinize Your Routine

hair, face, eyebrow, cheek, nose, Most women’s skin changes as they get older, which means your skincare routine likely needs an update every so often. Now is the time to assess what’s going on with your skin so you can make changes as necessary. Maybe you need a stronger anti-aging product or your skin is thinning and you want to preserve it. Talk to your dermatologist about any changes you notice so you can revamp your routine for the best skin ever.

4

See a Dermatologist

hair, human hair color, blond, human action, face, Speaking of a dermatologist, make this the year you make regular appointments for a skin check. This is important for picking up possible signs of skin cancer or other skin diseases. It’s also a great way to discuss specific skin issues and get tips and tricks for keeping your skin healthy and vibrant for the rest of your life.

5

Eat Better

human action, person, human positions, sitting, photography, Your skin relies on a number of nutrients to keep it strong and healthy. By eating a well-balanced diet, you ensure that your skin is getting exactly what it needs. That includes vitamins A, C and E as well as protein. Eating healthy is great for your skin, but also has other perks, including disease prevention and weight control. So, go for it this year!

6

Exfoliate

hair, human hair color, face, person, blond, One more step in your already rushed skincare routine might seem like more than you can handle, but the truth is that exfoliating is really important. It gets rid of excess dead skin cells and cleans out your pores so you can have radiant and clean skin all the time. You don’t have to exfoliate every day, but a couple of times each week is a great resolution to make.

7

Baby All of Your Skin

hair, face, black hair, eyebrow, person, Many women, myself included, focus mostly on the skin on the face. While that skin is important to care for, you need to be paying attention to the skin all over your body. That means moisturizing, wearing sunscreen and exfoliating it all. That way your entire body looks and feels as healthy as possible.

8

Try Coconut Oil for Moisture

hair, human hair color, face, blond, eyebrow, Lotion is great, but if you really want to pump your entire body full of hydration and moisture, add coconut oil to your routine. Simply rub a small amount all over your skin after a shower to lock in moisture and keep your skin smooth and soft all year long.

9

Heal Chapped Lips with Honey

hair, black hair, clothing, photography, brown hair, If you suffer with chapped lips, skip the lip balm and use honey instead. It's loaded with antioxidants that improve the health of your skin and it will soften and smooth rough, dry and flaky lips in no time. Plus, honey tastes a lot better when you lick your lips than traditional lip balm does.

10

Quit Sleeping in Your Makeup

hair, face, person, woman, photography, Sleep is when your skin works to recover and regenerate, but it can't do that if it's covered in products. Also, sleeping in your makeup leads to breakouts and blemishes. Start washing your face right before bed and you will be amazed at how much better your skin looks. Use cleansing wipes if you want to get the job done fast and easy.

11

Rinse off after Your Gym Workout

hair, black hair, clothing, person, photography, Hanging out in sweaty gym clothes can lead to acne on your chest and back. When your workout is complete, hit the showers and rinse all the sweat off your skin so that you never have to worry about breakouts anywhere on your body.

12

Add Retinols to Your Routine

hair, black hair, person, clothing, photography, Retinols work to prevent the signs of aging and can also treat and prevent skin blemishes. Look for retinol creams and make them a part of your skincare resolutions in 2016 and you will love your skin all year long.

13

Switch to Moisturizing Sanitizer

hair, face, facial expression, white, person, If you're anything like me, you carry around a bottle of sanitizer to clean up your hands when there isn't any soap and water to be found. These products contain a lot of alcohol (which is what kills the germs), which can be really drying to your skin. Switch to one that kills the icky stuff and moisturizes at the same time and your hands will thank you.

14

Wash Your Makeup Brushes

face, beauty, eyelash, lip, black hair, You use your makeup brushes on your skin everyday, which means they collect product, bacteria and germs, which can lead to breakouts and blemishes down the road. Wash yours with mild soap and warm water at least once a week to keep them sanitary and in tip top shape.

15

Switch to Sulfate Free Body and Face Wash

clothing, swimwear, photography, supermodel, beauty, Any product that contains sulfates is going to strip the moisture from your skin, leaving you with dry, rough patches in 2016. Read labels carefully and switch to those that don't contain any sulfates and you'll be a lot better off this year.

16

Make the Effort to Quit Touching Your Face

eyebrow, face, hair, nose, lip, Your hands are arguably pretty dirty. Think about all the things you touch over the course of a day. When you touch your face, that gunk transfers, which can lead to all sorts of skin woes. Make this the year you resolve to quit touching and you will notice a dramatic improvement in no time.

17

Be Patient with a New Routine

hair, human hair color, face, eyebrow, person, Anytime you start or stop a new treatment or step in your routine, you are going to have to wait for the results. Nothing is going to happen overnight so don't expect it to. Give your new routine a chance and you'll see the results you crave before you know it.

What is your skincare resolution this year? I hope you get exactly what you want. Feel free to let me know how it all turns out.
